The argument over what constitutes sexy lingerie is something which will rage unabated for years to come. Those without a thought of practicality to trouble them may well be of the opinion that sexy stands for anything that shows off a maximum of flesh and at least hints very clearly at that which it cannot show. However, there has to be some acceptance that practical considerations cannot be ignored. A woman can be utterly beautiful and in full control of her sexual wiles, but if she is unable to move an inch without her underwear riding up or cutting into her, she will feel about as sexy as a piece of meat being cut in a butcher’s shop. And if you cannot feel sexy, you cannot look sexy. It will just make things unbearable.

There are those, then, who argue that sexy underwear is that which leaves the most to the imagination. By wearing deliberately modest bras and panties that cover not only the crotch area but a significant amount of leg as well, a lot is left to the imagination. And as the imagination is uncensored and free to go where the mind of a man or woman will take it, it is a very powerful tool in seduction. However, it should not be taken as gospel that more coverage equals more attraction. If that were the case, women desperate for a man would simply take to the streets in head-to-toe veils. There has to be some kind of balance struck between the two.

If you want to wear something that really turns heads, and have a genuine purpose for doing so outside the bounds of a nudist beach or a private party, you need to think about co-ordinating your underwear with your outfit. Many women are constantly bothered by the difficulty of finding underwear that can be manageably worn with everyday clothing or club wear. If you are wearing intricate sexy lingerie and only want certain people – or more usually a certain person – to see it, then you will need to wear rather a lot over it, to ensure that tell-tale adornments do not peek through. If you want to retain a modicum of practicality, you need to take a different approach – and more and more women are leaning towards flesh-colored underwear.

Flesh-colored underwear allows a woman to go about her day without drawing attention to her underwear. There are some people who cannot manage to see a woman’s bra-strap or a bit of her underwear without going crazy with either sexual desire or puritanism. Flesh tones allow underwear to go unnoticed. Additionally, they can also have a very sexy twist in the same way – by being indistinguishable from the skin, they can create the impression of “going commando” – something which often wins with great approval from those who see it. At the same time, it allows a woman to address concerns of protection and hygiene without having to resort to highly visible and often very uncomfortable panties.
