See Through Underwear

If the phrase ‘not for the faint hearted’ was applicable to anything above all else, it would perhaps be see-through underwear. Considering underwear, in it’s essence and beginnings,  is primarily designed for modesty and to cover the body, it seems somewhat bizarre that things such as see-through underwear exist – but they do, and once you get over the initial shock at such an idea,  the benefits in both style and functionality quickly become apparent. See through underwear doesn’t have to be sleazy and when done right, can be extremely erotic and chic at the same time.

See Through UnderwearThe tag ’see-through’ is something of a misnomer. Some underwear is designed to be completely see-through, leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination, but this tends to be reserved for the fetish scene and is usually made from some kind of man-made fibre.  Instead, when a manufacturer claims to be producing see-through underwear, a better definition would be sheer or mesh underwear. In modern fashion, underwear which hints at but doesn’t quite reveal everything is known as see-through – some modesty is preserved in the majority of designs, so no need to feel too weak at putting everything on display.

See through underwear is a catch-all term used to describe a range of different styles. Some garments called see through are indeed that, with no opaque material used whatsoever, revealing virtually all to any onlooker. If this sounds like a little bit too much on first experimentation, bear in mind that some items of underwear are only actually see-through – and mainly through a mesh or sheer material – at the back, revealing the buttocks. Considering that buttocks are standard viewing thanks to the popularity of thongs and G-strings, this is nothing too extreme. A popular design choice is to keep the see through look but create the impression of a pattern – usually animal stripes – on the buttocks. For this reason, see-through underwear is incredibly popular with male dancers and strippers, as it reveals nearly all while still reserving a little modesty, still managing to leave a little to the imagination. But don’t let this association put you off – so-called ‘normal’ people wear see-through underwear, too!

Although see-through underwear is most popular within the male demographic, it does apply to women’s underwear as well. See-through bras are fairly popular and are considered a good choice for women with a larger cup size, as a see-through bra allows them to appear naked while still gaining the vital support of a bra. See through bras tend to show the breast area while still covering the nipple – a cute little opaque shape, such as a star or a heart usually covers the nipple – but completely see through designs are, of course, available. And that is the crux of see through underwear. If you like it, to wear or just to view, there is plenty of choice available, a choice means that it must be in demand. Have and look and see – you might just like it.
